Same Babies With More Attitude

I found an old picture of the boys and me, and as they say,” I can’t even.”

The other two pics are from this past Eid. What a difference a few years make.

I get asked if I’m sad about them growing up. Nope. Not even a little bit. I loved those chubby cheeks and those unfiltered laughs.

I loved the shine in their eyes every time they saw me, whether first thing in the morning or after an afternoon away with their dad.

They always ran towards me and hugged me like we hadn’t seen each other in days.

That was always the best part of my day, even though it happened several times a day.

I don’t miss it because it still happens.

Every time they greet me, it feels like we are seeing each other after days and weeks.

When they wake up in the morning, the first thing they do is come to my room and lie down next to me.

They are the same babies from several years ago. Just a little taller. And with a little bit more attitude.

Okay, with a lot more attitude.
